Communities around Puget Sound demonstrate growing interest in passenger-only ferry service to provide better transit options.

A recent study funded by the Washington State legislature has corroborated anecdotal evidence
that commuters want more ferry service. The study found that the state can operate new
service, or provide financial support for a county, transit agency or private operator.
